Installing Vegas On Several Computers

After paying for a registration number for Vegas 4 and DVD Architect, I entered these numbers into my downloaded programs. The programs did not run at that point, but I was asked to go online and have the program confirm these numbers with Sony Pictures Digital. After doing this, the full programs ran without any problems.

I notice that this procedure is also adopted with some Microsoft programs, such as Microsoft Word. However, what I am interested to know is what happens if you own two or three computers, or if you want to sell your old computer and buy a new one? Can you install Vegas 4 on more than one computer? Does this new internet confirmation of your serial number allow you to install Vegas 4 more than once, or do you have to go through a special procedure of getting permisssion each time you buy a new computer or have to reinstall the program for some reason?

I realise that software piracy is a real problem and that there must be adequate safeguards built into software programs to prevent this. If anyone has had experience with this matter, I would be pleased if you could let me know what happens when you have to install your Vegas program on other computers that you own.

Thanks for your help.

It has been policy to let you use Vegas on two computer, but not at the same time. However, you must register the program again, to be ble to use it on another machine. That is becase the activation code is made up partly of your machine's "fingerprint".
I don't think Sony is going to change that policy which Sonic Foundry established - but what do I know?
