Integrating External Codecs

Is there a way for VMS to recognize external codecs into the program as an option for rendering?

I'd like to use some 3rd party codecs for encoding and it would be nice to have VMS output in my desired file format without having to generate an intermediate formats.

Generally any directshow or video for windows codecs show up automatically once you install them and then start Vegas again. To access them you usually choose AVI with an uncompressed templated, then click the Options button under advanced render.
