I am waiting for in the "wild" testing to see if there are improvements, and if they are worth the expense. A 10-20% performance uplift that I would have to pay thousands for doesn't quite fit into my accounting. Unless time is actually money for me (which it isn't any more), I don't plan on getting caught up in the "percentage" gains. Unless it's 100%, I have time to grab some tea.

They demonstrate a topaz AI upscaling product but it looks to use the same AI engine that Vegas uses,

Do you have "inside" information about the AI engines, or are you just guessing?

It's Intel OpenVino and that's not really a secret. Search this forum re: Vegas or Google for Topaz AI and OpenVino.

Thank you. I’ve been using Topaz Video Enhance AI, and the AI Image Enhancement Software, since the initial release. But I wasn’t aware of the differences between the AI engine, and the various AI models.

@J-Toresen Topaz use:

OpenGL (discreet GPU)

OpenVino (Intel CPU 6th gen+)

OpenVIno (Intel IGPU 6th gen+)

Tensorflow (Older Intel's and AMD CPU's)

With VegasPro there is no AI processing via AMD or Nvidia GPU's. They use OpenVino for intel CPU's, most likely 6th Gen+, IGPU support for 11th and 12th gen Desktop CPU's as well as Intel GPU's with VP19.

If it's the same situation as Topaz who use tensorflow for AMD cpu's and older Intels then AI processing on vegas could be 5x slower compared to newer Intel CPU's . I don't think I"ve seen a comparison done, no idea if there is that slowdown on Vegas
