Intel Ivy Bridge--HD4000 Graphics Questions

I'm in the process of putting together a new system based on the Intel Core i7 3770K processor. I see that Vegas 12 now supports its internal HD4000 graphics for GPU acceleration, as well as Quick Sync for rendering. Has anyone had any experience using the internal graphics??

The Gigabyte motherboard (GA-Z77X-UD5H) I'm considering has a DVI, analog, and an HDMI connector. My understanding is that the HD4000 supports only two of these at a time. Question--if you add a video card that drives two displays such as an Nvidia 560ti, can you still use the onboard HD4000 to drive a third display?

Any experience with this processor and internal graphics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you do a forum search of the term "HD 4000" you will get hints and references to people who have experience - you may want to contact individuals for more depth.

Start here.

I have the graphics adapter and I've downloaded Vegas Pro 12, but I also have a list of other things to do before I can get to Quick Sync and the other features.

Certain Asus motherboards like the P8H77 support using the Intel onboard graphics to assist your graphics card using Virtu MVP software. I have it installed and it works great.
V11 finally got it stable. V12: downloaded the trial and nothing but crashes and hangs. I won't be upgrading and probably moving to Premeire.

I use the intel card for my third monitor for preview of the timeline in V11...I'm currently waiting for my GTX670 to be replaced by EVGA and have my son's old GTX470 running my 2 primary monitors. Everything has been working great in V11 so far with realtime preview. I'll wait on V12 to install (although will probably purchase my upgrade while th price is low), and will probably put the 670 back in when i get my replacement. If you are going to use the 4000 as your primary card, be sure to load the latest intel drivers for it which will be the ones for win8...that was the fix for the disappearing Sony AVC/AAC templates in V11 (search John Dennis' name for the explanation and link)
