Interlacing Issue(?)

I'm using MyDVD to burn a DVD video. No matter what output option I choose in Vegas (AVI, MPG) to create a file to be used to burn to the DVD, there are sections in my video that look like interlacing issues(?) (Not sure if this is the problem/correct term) What I have done is to shrink the video clip so that it appears on the left hand side of the screen and then I have credits on a black background on the right hand side. When a person moves in the video everybody gets this very obvious zig zag edge to them. What is this and how do I correct this? Please HELP! Thanks!

Try using BEST to render. I had a similar issue on shrinking imageswhen I used good.

Dave T2,

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried this and Vegas seemed to choke when trying to create an MPEG2 format if I selected best. I selected best and created an AVI but then MyDVD seem to choke on that. What output format do you use to then burn to DVD and what DVD authoring software do you use? I have both MyDVD and Ulead Movie Factory 2 SE. Both of these were free (came with my Dell and capture card). Got to get this resolved to send the DVDs for Christmas!

Try reduce interlace flicker on the event.

Sorry, I don't have a DVD burner. I have seen this on AVI files and DV camera output when not using BEST. Only time this was an issue was when I shrunk a video to the upper third and ran credits on the bottom. The video appeared interlaced until I changed to BEST.
