Intro gets skipped on some dvd players & pc's

I have a bug where the intro gets skipped on some pc's, dvd players and xbox 360's. The DVD works 100% perfectly in the DVD Architect preview mode. I also get to see the intro on my xbox 360 some times and sometimes it skips directly to the main menu.

On the DVD players and computers it skips directly to the main menu.

Do you guys have any ideas about what can be going on as I am working on my first commercial dvd project and don't want to launch a "buggy" dvd like that as I will be following up with 2 more DVDs in the series built in a similar manner.

Any help, hint or tips to fix this is greatly appreciated.

Did you make the intro the First Play? It should have a purple star next to it on the asset list on the left side.

TO: Tobias Fransson ,
You suggest you are going to work on a "commercial" DVD project - I am not sure if you mean that you are going to press rather than burn multiple copies of a DVD. If that is the case -you are going to think about this for a very long and labored period -because SCS DVDAPro will not be your tool of choice.

1) DaveT2 is exactly right-on when he suggests you have to be sure that an autoplay section is marked in SCS DVDAPro.

2) Your test-bed for determining characteristics of burned disc play have to be a far-wider criteria than what you suggest you are using. Skip test on Xbox - not valid. Generally skip tests on PC unless you are including DVD-Rom content which should be it's own test.

3) Good test-bed for burned discs - a recent vintage DVD player and a recent vintage Blu-ray player (firmware hopefully newer than Sept 2011.) The more and different set-top players the better. I have a test-bed of 15 different players before I release a burned Blu-ray disc for distribution.

4) Release burned discs on good media such as Taiyo-Yuden or Verbatim.

5) If you are doing pressed disc - the press house will attempt to validate your authored structure - maybe troublesome.

Yes I have set it to First Play with that purple star next to it, problem still persists, not sure what causes this error :/

It could just be a home-burned disc issue. Most current DVD and BluRay players can play them -- but they often don't play quite as cleanly as factory-pressed discs.

You can improve the performance of your discs and minimize this issue by a) using a quality disc like Verbatim or Tayo Yuden (NEVER Memorex), b) burning it at no faster than half the rated speed on the disc and c) using a program like ImgBurn to burn your disc and letting this program verify your disc after burning.

If you have done so, then the problem lies with the players(s) involved, and not DVD Architect. I have done thousands of distribution burns over the last 12 years, and only had a few returns resulting from my media choice, and none from the issue you describe (not opening on the selected start item).
