Is 23.976 the exact 24p frame rate?

Hello,

I went through the hell of the duplicate frame problem caused by other software packages using the 29.97 rate as opposed to the correct frame rate.

Now I'm working on a 24p project that will utilize several different software packages.

So is 23.976 the correct frame rate?

I don't want any issues caused by After Effects or any other programs because of frame rate. I've searched the net and it appears that this is the rate, but then again it's difficult to track down the 29.97 problem.

This is my first 24p project, so any tips on frame rate would be greatly appreciated. The project consists of AG-DVX100 footage shot at 24Pa, Lightwave CGI and stills being panned in After Effects.

Thanks

Mark

If you are delivering a 24p DVD at the end of the day, 23.976 IS the proper frame rate. If you create still image sequences in Lightwave and AE at 23.976, all should be cool in Vegas throughout the 24p project.

Using still image sequences is the best way to get around other people's rounding errors.
