Is Anyone Doing This?

Is anyone using an analog mixer "back end" to their Vegas
Pro setup? Or, am I having flashbacks to the 80's when I
was completely happy tweaking real knobs and pushing real
faders.

I am rebuilding my setup and considering 2 or 3 Gadget Labs
Wave/824 interfaces going analog out into a Mackie or
Behringer analog mixer. I just don't think I am ready for a
digital board. Since I only record 1 or two tracks at a
time, I am really only interested in a board for mixdown.
Can one of you pros check my thinking on this? Many thanks!

Hi William,

Yes I do it !!!

I have two computers :

1. Pentium III 550, 256 MB RAM, UW SCSI HD, audio cards 2 x Delta
10/10 from Midiman (16in/16out), Cubase VST 24

2. Pentium II 450, 128 MB RAM, UltraDMA HD, audio card 1 x Delta
10/10 from Midiman, Wavelab 3.0

Analog Mixing console

VTC1 from TLAudio ( tube mixing console 16 chanels )

some TLAudio compressors and EQ - Ivory series - as inserts for
chanels

For master inserts TLAudio C1 (compressor)and TLAudio EQ 2

As effects : Lexicon 480, Lexicon mpx1, and some others cheaper fx
units.

As I work :

I record whole project in first computer at resolution 24bit/44.1 kHz.
At Cubase I make all editation and I use some my favorite plugins.
Than I play 16 chanels outside from first computer to TLA VTC1
console ( tube EQ sounds really great )where I make final mixing. As
main FX for vocal and solo instrument I use Lexicon 480 ( I love this
reverb - is no competition ). For compression of master output I use
C1 from TLA ( really good - much more better as SW maximize in
ultramaximizer or other dynamic plugins ). And master I record to
second computer (Wavelab)in resolution 24bit/96kHz. Of course I use
for mastering also some next plugins, but only for small changes in
record.

I also thinking about using RME card Hammerfall with Swissonic
converters AD 24 and DA 24 for first "mixing" computer. (24 chanels)

Regards Gadget Lab card I'm not so sure if quality of AD/DA converter
is so good as Midiman Delta 10/10( similar price !! ). Swissonic
converters are much more better, but together with RME card
Hammerfall a litle bit expensive. ( but high quality !!! )

Best
