is Deshaker flaky on your Quad core too?

running the single core unit, it worked a treat, no lag no lock up..
running it on the dual core laptop, jsut as smoothe rbut obvioulsy a lil faster.. now though, on a quad core with reallocated and much larger pagefile, i get certain lockups and message corruption in Vdub..

any ideas? Im tryin got get this going but a 5 second clip has locked up at least a dozen times. I rerendered that clip and it worked.. albeit just as slow...

Imusing Vdub as a standalone, the files im rendering to and from are huffyYUV progressive scan

My daughter just returned from Kenya with her life and 30+ MPEG4 movies shot on a tiny pocket camera. I put them all into Vegas and then used the unmodified deshaker script. All went smooth as silk on my Q6600, utilizing varying loading of the 4 cores, typically around 35% as I recall. I'm using an Asus P5B, 4 gig, OC to 3.05 gHz.

OK, well i figured out what the problem is.. its not the plugin, its Vdub itself..

HOWEVER its also the way in which Huffy and deshaker combined work within the app..

Firstly
TURN OFF Direct X, and leave OpenGL checked only (u could prolly try turning that off too.. but i got it working with it on.. )
Im now using all four cores with a max CPU usage beween 75 and 85% percent as opposed to the 25% i was hittin on all 4

Obviously this app or the plugin is yet to be optimised for SSE4
I tried turning the affinity of the app down to 2, but this just bogged it and crashed Vdub
I tried adjusting the buffers and this did indeed help as well.. so make sure your performance buffers are not too high but not too low either

Turn off every other CPU based command and ONLY leave SSE SSE2 and MMX. I havent tried integer SSE.
Huffy WILL NOT WORK if MMX is not checked (apparently)

I dont use Vdub within Vegas so i dont know what u might need to do to change and save these settings
