I've had wonderful results withe the VV3 text tools. Give us more info on your problems. What are you trying to do, what settings are you using etc...

I have better results with bold fonts that are well spaced. For anything else, I use Adobe Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro.

What should my setting be at? I have not changed anything since I purchased. I know their is a problem though. For instance my friend wanted a book cover for his work I did this twice and both times the font appears a little more blurry then if I would use illustrator or any other program.

Does everyone else get crystal clear font in Vegas 3.0?

You're using Vegas to generate printed output? This isn't at all what it was designed to do.

Are you using "Best" quality in the Video Preview? "Display at Project Size"? Turned off "Display Square Pixels"? My fonts look fantastic, I'm not sure why yours don't.

I have seen player problems with accelerated video (in Real, WMP, and QT) where pixel columns get doubled. You might not notice it for regular video, but titles (in particular) look horrible. Turn down the accleration and you'll get all your pixels back.

TY SonicDennis I was not aware of a few of those but my settings were they way they should be. However, I found out the problem! It is a fact I believe that the general media text in vegas is not as clear as the Legacy Plug-in text. I have done test and found out that these are much richer.

Thanks for all the replies!

Check out ULEAD Cool 3D graphic animation software for your titles. It's easy to use and the 3D stuff you can produce is very cool. The whole program with additional plug-ins is only about $100.00!
The website is http://www.ulead.com/cool3d/runme.htm
The font images in VV3 titles look somewhat amateurish (blurry, fuzzed edges) even with an outline applied to each character. Especially the scrolling credits: you can't apply an outline to fonts in the standard scrolling credits. You have to make one with keyframes.
But no one should expect one software program to do everything in DV production. VV3 is much easier to use than any other NLE out there...and great overall results.

I think the problem is the Vegas does not let you adjust the amount of antialiasing of the text. In general the text in Vegas is very soft and there's no way to make it sharper. It works good in most cases, except where you need small text then it appears as not very clear. Maybe a sharp/soft slider could be added to the text tool in future versions of VV?
