I want to make a menu-based DVD which have more than 10 episodes of a tv show we produce but I want to add multi-language (urdu, french, arabic, spanish) translation to them.
I also want the user to be able to change the translation dynamically without losing the current scene...
The translation will be placed on a 40% opacity panel on the lower third.
Can anyone help here??!!! cuz i'm really stuck....

If what you mean by 'translation' are subtitles, then you can't do this with DVD-A because it doesn't support subtitle streams (which it sounds like what you are describing).

If instead what you are referring to is different audio tracks for each language, then DVD-A doesn't support that as well.

You need an authoring application that supports multiple audio and subtitle streams. ReelDVD and Adobe's Encore are similarily priced apps that offer these features. Encore is the only one that will allow menu based button selection switch audio or subtitle streams. Both will allow the viewer to switch streams with their dvd remote while viewing a segment.

You would have to have a copy of each of your 10 video segments for each language otherwise, it would eat up disc space and limit how many segments you could actually have on a single disc, and the viewer wouldn't be able to switch lanuguages on 'the fly' without the option for subtitle/audio streams.
