i fin imposible or vey hard to adjust levels without seeing a histogram of the image, as in after effects and photosop. vegas comes with a good color corrector and a lot of filters, but i wonder why it lacks this so simple feature. is there any free plugin i can get anywere in the internet? thanks
You have version #4? It comes with a set of "scopes" including an excellent histogram and a set of three color wheels which includes sliders to adjust levels. I would suggest you have what you're correcting on your external monitor while you have the histogram open on your computer monitor. Also use the color curve filter.
Its another undockable window pane. Are you SURE you have the option checked to show Video Scopes? Once you do, it should have a tab and appear with the other window panes at the very buttom. It could be hiding under another window pane. To check click on the divider line (thin vertical line to left of every window pane)and drag window pane sideways.
Having just learned how to use these exotic tools I love the fact that not only can I use the color wheels to improve color-balance while I view on the TV but I have the Vectorscope, Waveform and Histogram to give me objective feedback on my adjustments. That's all I've learned to work with so far in the Scopes, but what a dif they make over my old color-correction attempts!
