Is it possible to import an Avid codec into Vegas Pro?

I am submitting a movie length documentary to a distributor who is requesting a format of 422 Pro Res. The file I sent from Vegas was rejected. One of my problems is that I cannot view the end product which is a ..mov file. My distributor suggests that I use the Avid Codec 2.3.7 which creates a ProRess 422 file. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to import this codec into Vegas and then use it?

Avid codecs are here: http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/download/Avid-QuickTime-Codecs-LE They decode and encode Avid DNxHD/DNxHR files, not ProRes, but it's an industry standard after ProRes. You distributor probably means 2.7.3, not 2.3.7.

Avid files are .MOV, so you probably also need Quicktime for Windows (I can't remember if it's required).

What version of Vegas are you using? Why was your file rejected? Why can't you view the end product, and do you mean in Vegas or in any program?

Thank you for you feedback. I'm using Vegas 14 Pro. After my Vegas ProRes file is created the video does not display. I will install Quicktime for Windows.and see if that makes a difference. Thanks!
