Is it possible to open project edited in Vegas20 in Vegas16?

Hi guys,

The thing is that in Premiere it is not possible open xml file that I exported in Vegas20 but when I last time edited in Vegas16 it was not a problem.

I need to make aaf audio for audio technician and it is possible make it only in Premiere…

You could try and copy the time line in V20 and paste it in V16. Any FX used in V20 that is not available in V16 will not work.

The project is so huuge and I need only the sound, so I think that the way will be lock all the sound, delete video than to copy paste sound tracks (26 tracks) to V16 and try to make xml to open it in Premiere.

@miroslav-h have you tried export as premier project but open it in After Effects then re export it to PP ?

I have old, hardly workable (on my system) AE but it opened exported .pproj test file from Vegas. I can't play the audio but the cuts are there.

Try one track at a time and maybe someone with AE know-how will get your data onto PP.

@miroslav-h ... Have you tried exporting from Vegas Pro 20 using the EDL (Edit Decision List) export choice? Though I don't use Premiere, it does look like that Premiere imports EDL data. If so, you might be able to skip the need to go back to Vegas Pro 16.
