Is it possible to remove fly from the video?

I need to remove flies from certain parts of my video. I know that from the static fields you can remove it by masking, but there is a section in my video where the fly appears in front of me moving, so masking is not useful there. Any method to remove it? Some AI plugin or anything? Check the attachment to see the problem (download from the linked location, the preview is not very good).

The Remove module in Mocha Pro would possibly do a reasonable job of removing the fly, but Mocha Pro is not inexpensive: $695 USD to be outright or other subscription options. There is a trial version of Mocha Pro if you want to test it out: https://borisfx.com/products/mocha-pro/?collection=mocha-pro&product=mocha-pro&host=standalone-multihost-plug-ins&purchase-options=annual-subscription

If you're not already familiar with using Mocha or Mocha Pro, there'll likely be a rather steep learning curve, but BorisFX have lots of video tutorials for their products including Mocha Pro.

Money is the easier part, but time is short now to learn all that stuff. I am thinking about some plugins like this, that I could download or buy and add to Vegas:

This one is not bad but I'd like more delicate export options.

You can try motion tracking the fly and attaching a feathered clean matte of your background to it.

Yes, I have figured it out, but a bit differently. I don't know how to do motion tracking. But the method that I can do as a beginner is that I mask precisely around the fly on a frame, and then shift the field in the mask to one frame back or forth, and this way the field in the mask will be always clean and overlap the bad original frame in that section. The fly is only on a bunch of frames, so I can do it in a timely manner. And as the fly moves fast, it is enough so shift 1 frame, and it is not that noticeable in that small portion I mask.

The bigger problem is the crop tool, it is annoyingly dumb. I use Vegas Pro 12, and I only have the pen, rectangle and circle mask drawing tools. But they behave so oddly, I couldn't figure out how to make the selection larger, especially the pen tool reacts crazily when trying to enlarge the selected field size. Isn't there an option to use a simple pencil tool, with that I can draw the selection freehand? Or maybe a plugin that I can add and offers more easier to use tools for cropping?

Upgrading to VEGAS 21 gives you a totally new masking tool, Bezier masking, which you may find better for this task. It also comes with a basic version of mocha which you can use to make motion tracked masks.

Geforce RTX 3090

Vegas Pro21 Mocha should do this. Check out the tutorial titles "cleanup" where a vehicle is removed from a video. https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/boris-fx-has-created-super-comprehensive-content-for-mocha-vegas--142102/
