Is it really this easy?

The new firmware in Panasonics GH2 allows a HBR mode shooting 29.97 in 1080 but the MTS file is flagged as i not p. In clip properties I have just changed it to progressive, set project properties to progressive and it looks very good. Am I missing something here?( I want a 1080 29.97p outcome)

You can do either this or just let both clip properties as well as Vegas project properties to upper field first, just disable resample than.

No, it's 30p recorded as segmented frames with just the header set to interlaced to make the format match the AVCHD specs.
