Is it time for a Vegas Festival?

Maybe this sounds a bit stupid, but why not? SONY is big. Vegas SHOULD be big (and soon will be, I think). With Adobe releasing Audition and buying up Cool Edit, and Apple coming out with Soundtrack to counter Acid, it's clear that the gloves are coming off. Why not show them what we can do with this app? We've seen some great work from Vegas users, due in part to posts here and in LARGE part to Kelly's Vegas Users' site. They had the 90-day challenge. Why not sponsor a web-based festival featuring Vegas-edited material? You can read the manual and press releases all day. The people in here have the REAL proof that this is THE NLE. Why not show them what Vegas is capable of when you give it a spin?

Austin isn't web based (is it)? But both ideas could work. Sony guys, you listening?

The 3D graphics companies have them all the time.
Caligari, Maya, etc.

I would be ashamed to show my "begg"iners work.
I can't even get a office desk to look like a doll house table.

But I would love to see what others have done with Vegas and
DVDA and perhaps share (or donate a small fee for) some DVDs
of work people have done to spark some creativity!

A Vegas show should be in Vegas.

I think an interesting contest would be if they provided raw footage to be edited into a 1 minute or so spot. Similar to what they do with the Acid contests.
