We have recently - post 4.0c - discovered a bug with record using the ASIO mLan drivers. There is no workaround. We are working on a fix.

I am not seeing this with multiple Echo or MAudio cards. (Don't have two RME cards, so no way of testing agains that.)

This is a function of the drivers though. Vegas doesn't do anything special for multiple cards. Vegas only sees a single "ASIO" device, regardless of the number of cards that device services. Vegas then exposes the number of ports the driver tells it is available.

Rednoll:
You have multiple cards don't you? Are you having any problems?

oh goody

ok Im looking into this. You KNOW how hard it is to get any factual info out of RME, even with us being an Xvision dealer allegedly.

It does work fine with the MME side of it, just doesnt see past a certain number of inputs at 96k in ASIO. Truthfully, after I finish recording this newest set of drum samples, I wont be doing anymore 96k for quite a while so its kinda a non-issue

96K? That actually makes sense, since the RME card - the one I have - cuts down the number of inputs/outputs because it must combine channels to get 96K out of light pipe connectors.

So, at 44.1 or 48K you see all the inputs/outputs?

well its double wired so it gets kinda confusing, but yea it does cut your inpus down. I didnt try to see if the second card worked at 48k, but remember I was able to get all the correct inputs at 96k in MME instead of ASIO

in this setup, card 1 is the first 12 I/O and card 2 is the second 12 I/O then in vegas, you will see 6 sets of 8 I/O's in the pull down input select window, then you gotta try and pick the right ones that are the lead side for the channel you are looking for. Thats in ASIO mode anyway. In MME it only shows the right inputs.

But, toss it, in 48k, I can just unplug all the double wire crap, and just plug in with a 1 to 1 setup, no confusion, and I wont need more than 26 I/O at a time anyhow

this double wire crap is for the birds

And there was me believing that RME was about full-on quality and cut-no-corners total uncompromised functionality ....

I still have faith. The RME products meet my needs in a variety of ways, and Totalmix is AWESOME!

just a few bugs still eating away, but its getting better. Dont see any solution for the double wire BS tho :(
