Where have you pointed DVDA to use for your temporary file? How much free space is on that drive?

1.) If you have a second drive, create a temporary directory on that drive, then select that new Temp directory to be used for your temporary files. This all assumes that you have free space on a second drive.

2.) If you don't have a second drive, you will need to free up space on your C drive.

3.) If you can't free up space on your C drive, you will need a second drive...which is a very good idea anyway.

I have seen this also. Creating folder in C drive using files from F drive. DVD architect says not enough room in folder. My C drive had 7GB free at the time! How much space is needed? To answer my own question, I switched to the F drive which had 8GB free and got a warning that there may not be enough space in temorary files folder. When it finished rendering to the folder it was only 4.1GB. Of course the project was estimated at 4.8.

I notice that DVDA uses 4.7 as the disk size instead of the technicaly acurate 4.3GB. Could this be why file sizes are not reported properly in the optimize menu?

As far as 4.7 BYTES and 4.3 GB, that's EXACTLY the same thing.

Without getting into another long winded discussion again ( I did before, use search to find it) in computer speak a Kilobyte is most often represented as 1K or 1,000 bytes. That's not accurate. There are 1,024 bytes in every "K", not just a 1,000. So when you start talking big numbers that difference adds up. There is roughly
4,700,000,000 bytes that fit on you typical DVD, that is rounded out is 4.3 GB
