The DV codec used in VideoFactory is the MS DV codec. The Sonic Foundry DV codec is only available via Vegas Video 3.0. Also, you do not need to distribute the DV codec with the file. It will just work in all systems.

I also have a problem in this area: I edit Videos using VF on my PC and want to use the file in my Sony laptop and print it back to tape with DV Motion supplied by Sony. DV Motion cannot read this "wrong .avi format". How exactly do I have to change the setting that the DV Codec can be read by DV motion? (I use PAL DV). Thanks for any help!
