I've pre-ordered the packaged version of V9 and have an Order Number. When I check my account V9 is not listed under software or orders and is not recognized in the missing orders search.
What's going on? Has anyone received the packaged or purchased download version of Vegas Pro 9?

That was probably me. I registered a question with Sony and a got a response the second day... it turned out that I hadn't completed my initial order properly. I bought the simple downloadable version and was up and running within minutes. I might as well mention that everything works for me just as I was hoping for and so far the most noticeable improvement is with the speed of the preview window. At first I was having some minor issues with that but once I cleared a file from the trimmer, which I never use anyway, all went well.
I talked to Sony and it turns out that my order had been canceled. Not by me. So it's a mystery still but I would advise anyone who pre-ordered to check the status of their order. In my case I simply re-ordered and all is well once again.
Did you confirm your pre-order on May 11th from the email Sony should have sent you? You had to re-enter your credit card info. If you didn't do that the order would be canceled.
When I originally pre-ordered the box version a notation came up stating that it would arrive and or ship May 27th.
I went with the download option instead
I didn't catch the May 11 e-mail until today. When I clicked on the link I got an Invalid Order Number message. It looks like Sony expects people to respond fairly promptly to their confirmation e-mail. Seems a little odd to me since I ordered on May 3.
Save your time - don't use the web, just phone them. And beware that the email response that you'll get after your phone call requires you to log in to complete your purchase, but your password won't work. Read their email CAREFULLY.
