Yup. I ordered my copy online yesterday morning,
and it arrived lunchtime today by UPS Express.

Cool, thanks! Hopefully it will get to me just as fast. Hopefully they are still shipping out of Madison, WI since that is where I live.

Does it have printed manuals? If not, what is the advantage of getting the boxed version?
BillyBoy wrote on 4/20/2004, 2:41 PM
As far as the "boxed" version, its likely to be really a "bag" version, just the CD, and mini getting started manual. That's at least the track record, I haven't had a chance to order mine yet.

So aside from having the application on a CD along with some extra goodies ? that's about it.

Sad it doesn't come with a REAL manual. Any complex program like Vegas screams out for it. I ordered Poser 5 recently (half the price of Vegas upgrade for a full version) and it included a almost 400 page manual with many illustrations, some in color. Oh well, those days are nearly gone I guess.

You can get the manual in PDF format off the web site. Again, haven't looked for V5, that's been the pattern.

Has anyone else gotten their Boxed Versions yet?? I ordered mine first thing monday morening and I still have no tracking number or anything saying that it has even shipped out.

I ordered mine two days ago, and the retailer said it wouldn't ship until next week. I assume some retailers will ship it now, and some later (when they get it, or when they unpack it). 8>)

I bought mine direct from Sony/SoFo, which I assumed would be shipping from the headquarters in Madison, WI which is where I am from so I didn't think it would take this long to get here.
drmathprog wrote on 4/23/2004, 8:08 AM
Got mine also, although you're using the term "boxed" loosely.
Jsnkc wrote on 4/23/2004, 8:15 AM
Yeah, I assumed it would be the "enveloped" version and not a true "boxed" version. Either way I want it soon!!

I ordered mine boxed version online Monday morning also and called that night to verify my order - turns out there was a web glitch so good thing I called. Anyways, just looked up my order on the website and found out it shipped today so you might want to check for yours

Thanks...I wasn't even aware that they had a tracking page like that!

Apparently mine was delivered on Tuesday and I haven't seen it. Hmmmmm, that's odd! I just love living in apartment buildings and being gone all day, now I have to hunt for my package! God only knows what happened to it, I found one package I ordered on time sitting behind the washing machine that is outside my door!

One note, when you get the boxed version, you might want to come back here and download the update. The updates page has the v5.0a update, where the box is v5.0. Nothing majorly wrong in v5.0, just a few minor things that couldn't get addressed to make it in time for the final duplication and packaging version. The only thing, I would want the boxed version is if it came with a printed copy of the manual. Can anyone confirm if it comes with the printed manual or not? The updates page for v5.0a has the .PDF version of the download available for download.

You get a "getting started" guide. No manual.
Summersond wrote on 4/23/2004, 10:33 AM
I assume that I can update my Demo version with the boxed s/n version when It comes. All I want is the s/n off of the new pkg and use that to register. I don't think I need to reinstall from scratch do I?

Got my version today.. Boxed in the ups box. Glad they did not spend the money on the Vegas/DVD box. $199.99 is a great price

I got the manuals, Box and entire kit and kabootle :) But Im just one lucky SOB
jccoulter wrote on 4/30/2004, 12:10 PM
How did you get a $199 price? I thought the upgrade price was $249.
richard-courtney wrote on 4/30/2004, 9:46 PM
My "box" was a brown shipping box. I intend to keep the Sonic box as a
antique.

The lower price was an email sent out to registered users that
entered a valid email address. If you changed email or ISP's you may have lost it.
