Is the PNG setting exclusively in Vegas 4.

I have vagas 3. I can not find the PNG preference setting for stills only the BMP JPG and Tif. Is this setting only in Vegas 4? I do a lot of stills would this be a good reason to upgrade? Thanks

Not sure where these setting are. I've used PNG a lot in VV 3. I just pull them from Explorer or Trimmer and drop them on the timeline. It's the same in V4. Perhaps the preferences are about what Vegas can export?
Anyway, you have 999 reasons to upgrade, but this is not one of them.

tinklady, are you trying to use already existing PNG files in your project? Or are you trying to export still frames from your project out to PNG files? If the former, there are no settings you need to use. PNG files can be placed on the timeline just like any other still image file; locate the file in the explorer window and double-click or drag it to the timeline. If you're trying to export, then when you click on the floppy disk icon to save the still you'll be given a choice of Save as type: of either .jpg or .png.

You can copy the image to clipboard instead of saving it directly to a file. Then you can paste it into your favorite photo editor and save it as any type you wish.
