I've been trying to use it more and more and also re-optimizing my laptop setup for 18.
For the most part I've had no problems with prores proxy but today decided to created 1920x1080 versions from 4k source, using shutter decoder, to hopefully speed up preview playback and found that VP displays them like this
Are your graphic drivers up-to-date?
Could you share a sample ProRes clip?
Maybe the files aren't encoded properly. It is unlikely Shutter Decoder uses the official and standardized ProRes codec as this is bound to pay a license fee to Apple. But I'll also try with another FFmpeg based tool and report back.
Just tested with a ProRes clip created by myFFmpeg. It is ProRes HQ 422 1920x1080p25 with 5.1 PCM audio. It works fine in Vegas Pro 18 (no Quicktime installed). It's decoded via the s4compoundplug.dll.
Here's the mediainfo for the two versions. I'm uploading a small-ish file now.
The intel and nvidia drivers were updated to the latest yesterday.

This clip works fine on my system.
If not already done, could you test selecting the Intel GPU both for GPU acceleration in Options/Preferences/Video and Intel also to be used as hardware decoder in Options/Preferences/File I/0, restart Vegas Pro and try again?

@Marco. I've played around with the reader settings and now I can't get the file to fail. All the settings are back where they were when I started and the video looks fine. haven't rebooted. Not sure now what I need to change to get it to fail.
The sample of the download plays fine on my system which is nothing that special. ( V18 - 482 )
@JN- @harry-worth yeah, it's still working on mine too.
The only thing I can think is that Vegas got confused when I moved the files out of the way so I could point it at the new proxies. Oddly, the errant behavior kept appearing through two vegas restarts.
I'm going to try to repeat the proxy moves once I get to a stopping point in my current edits.
