I guess we're missing the description of what you're trying to achieve? A link to an existing file somewhere, perhaps?
Can you use the page curl to loop something off the side?
Use the Slide transition to create the background.
You can take the same image, put on two tracks with pan/crop splitting them, and use different transitions to take each one off differently/separately, but I"m just hazarding a guess as to what you want to do.

That's an easy one. There are two vegs on the VASST site that are already set up to do this. It's just a mask with a soft border (border tool) that uses Track Motion for PIP in center, and looks like stills going behind the image. Stills are using the slide or push transition, Pixelan has a sweet push too.
Anyway, play with opacities, masks, and you'll have this immediately.
You don't even need a mask, you could do this with Track Motion on it's own, no parenting, nada. I just recreated most of that in about 20 seconds. If you have a challenge getting it, drop me a note, I'll send you this veg.

How can I get it to automatically change the still? I don't think it is a still cause the backgrounf dissolves with the foreground. Please show me what you mame up with that looks like this, I will search on Vasst for the vegs you refer to.

It's now on the VASST site labeled "COOLDRAFT"
Just replace my generated media with your wedding footage, you'll have it.

Dunno what to tell you...it's been downloaded 37 times since last night, and there are 71 people on the site right now. Try clearing your cookies and logging in. If you are trying to log in to a specific page, it won't allow you. We're slowly closing off all accesses outside of the vasst.com/login.htm page due to other people linking directly to files from other websites.

Cooldraft, look at what is happenning in the background and try to figure that out first. I don't think anything is happening automatically.

There are two tracks in the timeline. Top one is sized down using the pan and crop tool and the bottom one is the background. The soft border is what tricks your eye to thinking the changes are automatic. They are not. The bottom track is just as carefully edited as the top track. It seems that what the background is are shots from the main video and that continually being pushed offscreen. So it's probably many copies of the same shot and the push transition between each. When the video for the main piece changes, the video for the background changes. The backgrounds in some cases may even be stills.

The veg file does not show how to reproduce a sliding background.

You're welcome

Sliding background:.

Place a sequence of stills or video events on a track.

Overlap them and apply the Push Transition - I think your example was the same as Push left preset. Add feathering if required.

You can vary how fast/slow they move by the amount of overlap - for instance if the transitions occupy 50% of the event's duration and meet in the middle, you'll have continuously sliding frames.

Spot, I like the 60's visual effects in the veg.

I'd already mentioned the slide transition/push transition in 2 previous posts AND built the veg file AND Buster had a great description.

I hate being this callous, but it's time you figured the rest out on your own. With a veg starter, and all these suggestions, it just ain't that hard. Otherwise, you could always pay someone to build the full veg for you, just send the media and the money.

Spot, The delete key in vegas isn't working, I 'll tried using a dissolve trans., that didn't work, then I tried the delete key, but no luck. First of all, I followed all the instructions to the letter, I put the video on the timeline, then no matter how much I press that delete key, then used the ripple edit function, "effect all tracks, markers, and regions", my "ex" was still there, 400 miles away, put still there! So what good is it to have a region edit feature if doesn't work for a mere 400 miles?

Sincerely,
screwed

ROLTFLMAO!! I needed that laugh this early in the morning.

Cooldraft, I modified the file so you can see the slides in the background.
