is there way to open AAF or OMF, maybe in V20?

Hi all
I found a similar thread in audio, but as it's concerning a video Vegas project, I think it makes sense here too.
I urgently need to open and work with a bunch of projects coming from a Logic montage. So far everything we tried failed, as Vegas for some reason does no have the AAF feature, which is really problematic I think.
I read in the audio thread that there is something called AAFtranslator, but it's S199 for a feature I think I shouldn't have to pay extra for. We also tried FCPxml, which does seem to be an import feature of Vegas but which does not work, as the Logic exports only refer to AIF files which in this case don't exist, as all the audios are Wav.

AIF files, as far as I know, don't have the metadata like WAV files, required for the timeline positioning to work.
Is there any other solution than the AAFtranslator?
Thanks!

Not that I am aware of. There where OMF converters prior to AATrans, but they were discontinued long ago, They were not free or low-cost either

There are some work arounds like rendering the separate audio tracks from head to tail, which can be less confusing than hundreds of events when a OMF or AAF project is imported.

The Mac PCM <.aif> file format inherently does not support metadata (at least in PCs)..

@Mindmatter Hi, would you share one of those files? I'm just curious 😉

AAF import has been a part of Vegas since at least V11. Where'd' it go? There never was OMF import. I'd convert in ProTools from OMF to AAF, and then to Vegas. But if the AAF was made properly, upon import into Vegas, stereo tracks remained stereo tracks. When going thru ProTools or other OMF to AAF conversions, they would always come in as dual mono tracks that you'd then have to pan left/right and figure a way to use automation on two tracks simultaneously. Grouping tracks for automation purposes (something protools does nicely) would be great.
