is this a bug??

Hi guys..

This is the problem

If I export an mpg or wmv that i choose to render through a network computer , the finished wmv or mpg has very small, but noticables black strips at the top and bottom of the video ( i can only explain it best as the movie isnt touching the very top or bottom of the screen when viewed full screen - or there is a small border around the movie inside the movie player when viewed regular size)

If i export the same video regularly, WITHOUT using a network computer, the movie is fine...

Ive tried this on 2 computers, so i dont think its anything to do with the computer.

Also if I do the same as step 1, but choose THIS computer as the network computer to render, it still has the problem...

Sorry if i haven't explained this correctly, but ive tried to explain as best i can.

Please export 10 seconds of any movie to wmv using the 2 methods I have explained and let me know.

Or perhaps somebody knows why this is happening.. would be very grateful for some help!

Many Thanks

Nick

Is it possible that when manually rendering you have the "stretch to fill frame" option picked but when network rendering it is not?

What are the dimensions of the rendered file? 720x480 or 720x486?

Or is this a PAL question?

640x480 wmv .... this isn't the issue though... the issue is if i render through network i get the problem. it doesnt matter what i output at, mpg, wmv...

Howerver if I do it a normal render throught the main computer, its fine...

wierd!

I didn't think that you could network render a WMV or MPG file because you're not rendering, you're encoding.
