Is this a codec bug?

Whenever I try to convert a PAL DV rendered file to Divx 5.02, it freezes at 9995 frames. I use Virtual Dub for this, Vegas disappointingly doesn't work at all. Is this a bug in the PAL DV codec?

Noone answers this posting. OK. But the bottom line is: Why doesn't DivX encoding work in Vegas - an expensive application, while cheap or even free ones encodes with no problem whatsoever?

We have always had problems with post-5 Divx. Divx networks is aware of the problem. No promises as to when a fix will be available- sorry

OK - but it doesn't work with 3.11 either - at least not now, after the last VV3 upgrade.

Anyway, Vegas crashes when trying to render to Microsoft Video 1, too. And two times I've tried to render a two hour long project to MPEG-2 PAL Video. After rendering for 35 hours it gives up with the explanation that the reason could not be found. Think about that. 35 hours. Two times. 70 hours. And yet no video.

Divx is sketchy at best, but you should not have this trouble with Mpeg. What version of Vegas are you running, and wha are your system specs?
