Is this a good deal?

I posted this in the Vegas Audio forum, but got no response, so I'm reposting here.

B&H is selling these USB sound cards for $149.95

M-Audio Duo

M-Audio Quattro

I'm looking for a second sound card that I could use on a laptop and for additional inputs/outputs to supplement my Echo Mia on my desktop machine. The Duo sounds appealing because it can also be used as a standalone analog-SPDIF converter.

Are either of these a good deal? Or, are these units so old that they're obsolete? I've done a search on these in this forum, and results seem mixed.

Any thoughts?

From what I've seen posted, the M-Audio drivers are their weakest link. If you don't have good drivers, you won't be a very happy editor.
I've got the M-Audio UNO midi to USB interface that I've had to unplug because it was crashing my PC (Via chipset).

I have a Quattro, and with the newest drivers from the MAudio site it works great with Vegas and Sound Forge.

I chose the Quattro because it also has midi IN/OUT, making this possible on my laptop.

It cost about 4 times the price now offered - if it was nearer me I'd pick up another one ....
