Hello,

I'm a skateboarder and have gotten into the filming part of it recently. On a favorite video of mine, there's a clip where the everything is black and white except for the top of the guys skateboard. It's a neon color. Is it possible to do this? I'm thinking edit frame by fame and color the skateboard. If it is possible could you please post back with what efx to use and what part of the manual I should read up on.

Any help is greatly apprecited

If the skateboard is a single color, you can use the color pass article in my newsletter to do what you are asking. If there are several colors, you'll need to mask the skateboard in some way. The new Bezier masking tools is a possibility.

There is a tutorial
on the subject, as well as 3 various methods on the VASST site, plus a tutorial here on the Sony site, and JetDV has one in his newsletters. There is also a tutorial on the DVX 100 users site.
In other words, lots to find and easy to do.
1. Insert Secondary Color Corrector to the clip you want to effect.
2. Use the color picker to select the color you want to have stay.
3. Remove saturation/set this all the way to the left.
4. click the Invert Mask checkbox.
5. Tweak luminance and saturation as needed.
