Is this the best method?

Here's what I'm trying to do. I have individual letters as image files that have a trail behind them. There are a total of 24 letters that fall from the top to the bottom all at different speeds (kind of like the Matrix screen). I did this by importing each separate image file (pertaining to each letter) and then used Track Motion to animate each letter. Basically, the first keyframe starts at top, the next keyframe the letter is at the bottom and within a split second the next keyframe jumps it back to the top and repeats. This goes on for the length of the video (about 40 seconds).

Is this the best way to do make falling letters that repeat when they hit the bottom or is there something else I should be doing? This is my first project with Vegas having "tried" Premiere (which crashed on me about every 1 minute). Vegas has yet to crash on me and is so much easier to use.

Thanks,
Mark

I would just do one iteration of the fall. Render that to uncompressed .avi and then use that as souce - paste it onto the timeline over and over until the 40 seconds is done.

You can use pan/crop to move it over a letter-width and do another column. You can add a velocity envelope to make rates of falling change.
