Isolating and Removing Objects in a Video

I have two videos.

Video A: animation of gaming character

Video B: background video from gameplay

In this screen shot of the Video you can see Video A is on the left and Video B is on the right. In order to make them appear blended I have set the Layer for Video A to Screen or Overlay and moved it on top of Video B layer.

The issue is Video A has some elements I want to remove, circled in Red. Is this impossible to remove?

I tried Chroma Key but doesn't really change anything.

Use the pan/crop mask and draw a mask around them to remove. Easiest way. Or draw around your character and tell the mask to remove everything else.

I've had good luck using delogo. John Meyer created a tutorial on it some time ago.

Use generated media to match the background color, place on track above and use Track Motion to size the GM to cover the areas you want to mask out. Or, as others have suggested, use a mask in Pan/Crop to do the same thing. The delogo solution is excellent as well.
