No idea what's going on there, in my list the Pro version and the Studio version are together in the list. If AC3 Pro really is missing, somethings wrong with your installation. Personally, I'd try a complete re-install of both DVDA and Vegas. What version of Vegas are you using??

Try following these 2 tutorials, they should help.

If the OP is using Movie Studio there won't be an AC3 Pro option.

Well I followed what they said in the tutorials and now the error message pops up as soon as I hit "Burn" seriously thinking about giving up

As I said. Un-install, then clean re-install. Have you installed any codecs lately? Or has windows done an update? Either of these can mess up rendering.

As a last option before doing that, render your file with audio attached. (Tick the box in the audio tab of the render template that you use.) Then drop the whole thing into DVDA. What are the properties of your project set to in DVDA? Show us another print screen.

Yes, as a matter of fact I just installed many updates. ( also installed codecs, but did a system restore soon after ). How might I reverse the process? System restore?

You're in a bit of a minefield. It's probably the cause of the strange problems you're having. Most video editors avoid unnecessary updates and codecs - leads to headaches! System restore should sort it, but it's not infallible. Try uninstalling whatever you've installed. The printscreen you've got there is 'optimize disc'. There's a button there for project properties.
