it doesn't work

I installed Vegas Pro demo today, and then I uninstalled
it, because it doesn't work.

It said "installed successfully" but it lied - it's junk!

My contract ends at the "install" button. I don't even
want ot know - nor should I need to know if my double
bottom knocking sychronising thrust pin retaining flange
socket is disalignwed with the moon.... I just don't care.

The world is unforunately full of nerd-groups who revel in
problems:

If I buy a TV I expect it to work. I refuse to get onto
some web-site and download new "drivers" - I just switch it
on. Same with my car.

Plainly software is neither a universal science, nor is it
intelligent enough to examine its environment and report
that it won't work.

My old tape recorders (31 years old) still work - they just
work - all the time - every time........

I need to record stuff, and this software does not work.
End of story.

Yeah, I can't drive stick, and the ferrari I was test driving
couldn't drive itself, so it sucks!

I usually try to stay above the fray, but this guy is a true
imbecile. High performance equipment of any kind may need tweaking.
Sure I can buy an aiwa boom box and it works fine right out of the
box, but you have to take the time to hook up a good quality
component stereo system.

My advice: get some good antipsychotics and try again.

What was that old tech support saying about computer's and certain
types of folks? ... "Just take the thing back to the store and get
your money back, you're too stupid to own one".

KAC ...

This guy had a real tough problem. I don't blame him for being
frustrated.

It appears that he upgraded to a new Win98 and installed a new HD.
The HD was UDMA 66 but his MOBO was not. The HD needed a new driver
and the BIOS had to be set differently. Once he did this, his
problems went away.

I am sure this one baffled our tech support as well. I wouldn't have
guessed this intially.

I would love to be able to detect these kinds of problems. Man would
it make our lives easier. The harddrive tells us it is working and we
have to believe it.

Sigh...
