I am not defending Zippy. I think his way of communicating needs a little work. But, I find myself agreeing with 95% of the things he says vegas is missing (and I love vegas). But, when he is right, he is right. I just wish he was a little more choosy in the wording. I think then most people wouldn't despise him so much. I work at a tv station. The engineers hate me. Why? Because every time I say hi, it is followed by a "this is broke or this fuc**ng thing isn't working right. I never say "Damn, this DVE is just working perfectly" or "No phase shift on this switcher today". The point is we don't generally point out the good things on these forums because it is a place for us get help for the problems we have with Vegas. And, read the ***** manual doesn't always work. For me, it is much easier to ask for help, then when someone gives an example how to fix the problem, I feel like kicking myself because it was so obvious. But coming here saved me hours of time.
I won't ignore user on anyone. Because good or bad. Every post helpes me be a better editor.

And to those of you with web sites (BillyBoy,etc.), you can't imagine how helpful you have been to me and I appreciate it very much. So thank you.

Sorry, I couldn't disagree more. Zipp hasn't pointed out ONE BUG, or one real problem with Vegas.
Opacity won't go to 40%? Yes it does....
Envelopes are too easy to delete? Yes, they are if you press the delete key. Like in any other app.
External monitor won't work? If your computer is within spec and you have an OHCI card, it does
and the list goes on.....Zippy doesn't know the application, doesn't want to learn the application, and rather than posting a 'how do I" or "What is this for?" he posts screaming commentaries on "THIS DOESN'T WORK" with implications of "SONY IS STUPID AND SO ARE YOU FOR NOT #@$# ABOUT IT."
The only post he's ever made to my eye, that met the level of community involvment is the Broadcast Levels post asking for which one to use. Someone responded nicely to him, explaining it clearly. Did he thank them? No. Instead, from what I understand, he was profane on either that or another thread as of last evening. I've got him ignored now so I don't see his posts.
But either way, screaming "FIRE" in a room is illegal in the real world, and it's considered bad etiquette in the cyber world. It ought to be punishable; maybe that would teach the perpetrator of BS to knock it off. But no way can you look at it and see benefit, only selfishness and trouble. This guy's behavior alone has spawned what....50-80 posts? that say nothing except "this guy's a jerk/this guy should be ignored.." I'm one of the least caustic towards him and I get nasty potshots back from the child. Try to help him, he slaps you. How is that a benefit? Show me one instance where 'he was right' and I'll recant.

I agree with Spot---Zippy is functionally illiterate when it comes to Vegas. Really doesn't take the time to learn the software and makes outrageous claims that aren't based on reality. He's your basic troll. Beyond that, I dont think he is very smart.
