items won't play in order

I have a menu with 9 items and a playlist. I am testing the dvd in a player. I click on the first file and it starts, then I hit the next button and it does not play the next video in the list, it skips to a different one. If I continue to click the next button, it will play only half the videos and all out of order.

in the program, when I click on the playlist, it shows all 9 files listed in the correct order in the space under the preview box.

what action do I need to take to make things play in the correct order?

Are you using the Studio version or full version of DVDA?

In the Full (Pro) version you can order the tiles on the disk. Otherwise you have to rely upon the playlist to play the correct order. IF you hit NEXT you are bypassing the scripting that tells what file to play next. If you just let it play, it should play in the correct order.

Okay, I fixed it by starting over. Now when I hit next, it plays the title that is next and the playlist plays everything and in order. thanks for responding to me!. (I have studio 4.5)

I think in Studio the video is laid on the disk in the order that it is imported. So if you started over and brought the videos into the project in your desired order, that is probably why it is working.

Glad you got it worked out.

For what it's worth, the "Next" and "Previous" buttons are for navigating between chapters within a single DVD title. You're trying to navigate between titles (not chapters). Note that even if you have the files in the correct order on the disc (meaning, you add them to the project in the order you want them to play), not all DVD players will necessarily navigate to the next video of a playlist when you hit the Next button. Some will return to the most recent menu, and some will do nothing at all.

The most reliable solution is to merge all your files into one file and inset a chapter marker between "sections" or drop them into a Music / Video compilation (and DVD Architect will include each file as a chapter).
