izotope

I have Vegas 15 (upgrade from 13, 14). When I select 'declicker' from the audio effects, a dialog box comes up asking me to provide serial number. I put in the VP 15 serial number and that did not work. I put in the iZotope Mastering and Repair serial number from the VP 13 (from Sony printed in an email) and that did not work.

Edit: each entry is invalid

Is there something I am missing? Am I required to repurchase this plugin?

The 'izotope' audio effects were most likely offered as goodies with VP13 or 14.  Your serial numbers are specific to those versions.  They usually do not transfer.  The idea is to get you hooked.  If you find 'izotope' effects are in regular use it may be better to buy directly from source.  These will usually transfer to other nle's that use VST effects.

'iZotope' often have offers.

I do not recall the iZotope Elements VST restoration plug-in suite being included with VP, it is included with Sound Forge Pro 12, though and will work in VP when installed and authorized . It has a separate serial code and is authorized on-line with iZotope.

Magix also has the Noise Reduction 2.0 suite which has similar tools and is decent. I recall that was included with VP at one time. NR 2.0 has been included with Sound Forge Pro since version SF Pro 8 or 9. Prior to that, it was an additional purchase. NR 2 is 32 bit Direct X, but works in 64 bit VP.

FWIW, I've had good results with the RX Elements plug-in, which I just ended up getting separately. The interface is fairly intuitive and it really does a good job without introducing artifacts.
