Izotope RX Elements plug-ins not showing up

Neel wrote on 1/22/2023, 10:12 AM

I'm running Vegas Pro 19, and I also have Izotope RX Elements version 8. I dumped the .dll files for the VST2 versions of RX into a folder that Vegas looks in, but they don't show up in Vegas. I could swear I was using RX on a previous version of Vegas Movie Studio. How come it doesn't work now?

Sometimes new VSTs are not available until a PC is restarted.
Also confirm the folder containing the RX <.dll> files is listed as a VST search folder in Vegas' "Options> Preferences> VST Effects".
If they are 32bit VST-2 plugs they would typically be located in the 'Program files (x86)> Steinberg'. If they are 64 bit VST-2, 'Program files> Steinberg'

Thanks, yes the path is set correctly. I think I copied the 64-bit versions. Doesn't Vegas Pro 19 support 64-bit plug-ins? I know it won't support VST3, but I thought 64-bit was OK

Yes 32 and 64-bit VST-2. As you are aware, not VST-3 (VP-20 supports VST-3).

Here are my setting. I made a special folder for VSTs I want to include in Vegas, since I have many many VST plug-ins for my music studio that I would never use in Vegas, just to shorten the time to scan folders.

Even when I did a re-scan in the Preferences tab, it did scan the RX plug-ins, but then never added them to the list. I even tried re-installing the RX plug-ins, and tested them in my Cakewalk music production program, and they work fine there.

What else can I try here?

Don't use the dll starting with iZRX...

Use those starting with RX8...

Thanks so much! I didn't realize there were two sets of the dll's. Still not sure why this is, but they both have to be in the folder to make it work.
