Jerky playback

Hi,
This is my first post on this forum so i hope i explain my problem correctly.
I purchased MSP 6.0 last year and very impressed with it but after burning my first dvd i noticed at every transition, the video jerked or stuttered, then as soon as the transition affect was over the video ran smoothly again.
So i checked the project on my pc and the same thing occurs. This makes the video totally unwatchable. My pc is properly maintained and my settings are the settings i have used on other editing software (Ulead Media Studio Pro 8) - pal dv,25 frame rate with no problems at all.
Hope you can help as i gave up using SVMSP through sheer frustration but i am giving it another try.

There is an explanation why the previewing is jerky - please see the thread: "choppy transitions VMSPlatinum6" - but this only applies to previewing, where VMS has to, kind of, simulate the transition in real time - and this costs CPU time.
When you render the edited video (Make video) it is just a video stream in mpeg, wmv or alike - and any transition can (should) not have influence on the viewing.
However if your output format has high definition and high compression - all the changes in the video stream during the showing a transition also can cost some CPU time to "unpack" and show - and here it is a question of how high definition and compression you use - and how good the codec is, that you use for seeing the videostream.
Pls. tell which filetype and format you rendered the video to, the definition etc.
