Jerky Preview

Hi I am trying to use SV Platinum 10 but I'm finding it very difficult to edit. As I move the cursor along the timeline the preview video is so jerky that it's impossible to make a clean edit. It's as though it jumps several frames at a time.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Also when I work with AVCHD files the program crashes. Could these two problems be linked.

Are you using the scrubber to move along the time line? What's your system?

Thanks D7K but what is the "scrubber".

If the scrubber is the little shield that sits on the time line then yes.

I had the same problem with my old computer which was windows xp. I upgraded to a new computer which was supposedly ideal for video editing and other media. I'm now using Windows 7.

I have used Edit Studio Pro for a few years and the preview of the video while moving across the timeline is very smooth, however the program won't accept avchd files.

I was sure that with a new computer especially built for my needs would fix the problem but alas.

Could it be a driver issue?

Thanks for your time KathyM

The problems you're having playing back and the crashing your experience could well be indications that your system isn't powerful to handle these video files.

What are your computer specs?

And, when you edit AVCHD, do you set your Project Properties to correctly match the AVCHD video specs?
