Jerky scrolling text

I have made a "Star Wars" like scrolling text, using the Titler Pro and then adding perspective to the event in 3D space.
Basically, all is fine, except that the text movement is somewhat jerky.

The text, while scrolling pretty nice, makes small "hops", it is not as smooth as expected. My expectations stem from some other scrolling text I have, which floats wonderfully. (I cannot see eny different settings between text A and text B)

What settings can I tweak to avoid this?
FTR: This is in the final rendered movie, my preview is always jerky.

Complex fonts such as Times Roman can appear to move unevenly and simpler fonts such as Trebuchet are more effective. Is this the problem or is the motion itself uneven?

The motion is absolutely even.
The problem is that the text is "shivering", especially the lower edge of the characters it is vibrating back and forth (in the direction the text moves) . The result is not nice at all.

1. Don't use serifed fonts, like Times Roman, as Serena has suggested. This is a big no-no and will lead to all sorts of flicker. Not a problem with Vegas, but a problem with TV technology.

2. Enable "reduce interlace flicker" (it is an event property which you can access with a right-click).

increase the resolution of your event (upper left of the event window). that could help too.

Thanks to all of you, my video editing knowledge takes giant leaps :-)
Here is the report:

Changed from serifed font to non-serifed: Did not help
Turned on/off reduce interlace flicker and all sorts of combinations thereof: Did not help
Increased the resolution: Did not help
Increased the frame rate from 15fps to 25fps: Eureka!

My project is a "multimedia" project and defaults to 15fps.
Besides of the flicker going away, the text is now rendered white - not grayish anymore.

I am totaly confused about PAL, NTSC, square pixels etc., if there is a step by step guide telling me what to do, it would be much appreciated.

One suggestion is to render the project as DV-AVI.
Then render that file into the desired format knowing that the original is as good as it can be.

DV-AVI has its own set of problems caused by 4:1:1 color sampling.

I'd recommend getting Douglas Spotted Eagle's Vegas 8 book from Focal Press, quite comprehensive and clear both. ~$30 at Buy.com, ~$50 elsewhere when I bought mine.

I’ve had same problem a few times and read an article about progressive and interlacing on tickers and they suggested progressive is the best if interlaced reverse field order this can also help
