Jerky video/music ??

Hey folks,
Have been really enjoying the heck out of FV. I have a new problem and it just started. When I render to AVI or watch in FV, I am getting jerky video and music whenever it comes to a transition or FX. It did not used to do this until recently. I have DMA enabled and have defragged my drive. Even projects that I have created that did not do this, now do it when I reload them or edit them and then re-render. What have I done ??

Have you changed / updated something on your system? Transitions & FX put more of a load on the processor, so could VF be competing with something?

No, I have not changed anything. I am a beta tester for Photodex's Proshow Gold and I have installed the latest beta, but I dont think that would do anything to Video Factory. I have rebooted, shutdown anything that is running in the background and I still get the jerkiness. I have never had this problem with any other video editor. I have Pinnacle Studio 8 and Uleads Video Studio 7 installed, but no problems with them. Maybe I should uninstall VF and re-install it ? Who knows ??

I defragged my hardrive, but it did not really take. I have a 20 gig avi file that was too big and it guess there was not enough room to actually degrag properly. I moved a lot of stuff to another hard drive and then defragged again. This time, the defrag was successfull and now my video is no longer jerky/hesitant.
