Jittery video

A DV-AVI slide-show video I made awhile ago, which formerly played without problem thru the Windows Media Player, suddenly has begun to jitter, noticeable particularly in still shots of black printing on white paper. The audio track music is fine. I have made two recent changes - updated my video display drivers, and moved the video from my C-drive to my external Firewire drive, which contains only video. Could either change have caused this problem? Other ideas?

I had a bad jitter problem when playing my cam thru FV. Bought a cpu at 2.1 and the problem is gone - the old one was 500 amd. Twice the memory also now at 512. I just bit the bullet and did the upgrade of the whole thing.

The video itself hasn't changed - it played fine in WMP9 until yesterday. The only change we made to our computer was upgrading the video display drivers, which is my guess as to the cause. Otherwise, same CPU (Pentium 4 1.90 GHz), same video memory (64MB), same RAM (512MB).

Have you tried different settings for the video display, especially if you can choose various refresh frequencies? You might find a combo that gives a satisfactory image again.

You can roll back the drivers and have a look see fairly easily. Grob
