I don't think it's possible, V6 lets you scrub audio but below a certain point the units (samples) that makeup audio are meaningless entities. Video on the other hand exists as frames, each one is a self contained entity, a still image. What you're trying to do would require the ability to 'freeze' audio.
Best way to work is to get used to looking at waveforms, from them you can find the precise start and end of words and notes.

I was asking because Avid's JKL Trim feature does play the audio in slow mo as you jkl trim clips
