Joyfully OT - Another Lawyer

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let y'all know that through some miracle, I passed the California Bar exam on my first attempt.

I think at least part of the reason was the intellectual property discussions here that were like dessert to my then-steady diet of bland bar study.

Thanks to those of you who were kind enough to send emails of encouragement during that period.

Bob.

Bob,

Heartfelt congratulations from somebody who at least knows what an incredible accomplishment that is!

Bravo!

Congrats. Passing the Bar is one thing, and passing the Bar on your first try is even more of an accomplishment.

Glad that some of the discussions on this Board were of interest. Now, for those of you who are in Med School, next week we'll be discussing bone marrow transplantation.

Congrats! But since to you have chosen to be part of the Evil Empire, we of the Rebellion Alliance must be prepared to do battle for our freedom of the Evil Overlords of IT rights..........

Good luck with your first first year internship if you choose to work at one of the big firms, don't let them overload you!

Let's go back in time. How do you feel about Napster? :)

Hi Rique,

Before the news came out, I was whipping up margaritas. With all the celebration this weekend, there were not too many bars I didn't pass without stopping (at least, that's what my head feels like today). :-)

Apit, no plans to work for a big firm. I'm probably going to practice at my current nonprofit health care employer, just moving from IT into the legal department. At 53, I'm way too old for starting at the bottom of the ladder (and I've already been there, done that in the pharmacy profession).

Sorry, I miss your post. Your current employer must be really excited about you passing the bar,(especially the first time). Your background plus law degree( + a vegas video editor to boot) makes you a great asset for the legal department. If you work at a hospital, the IT background will help in tracking down documents from the dark corners of the world. Well, good luck and have fun before the work starts piling up.

I've been kind of out of the loop lately. Congrats, rstein, on your achievement.
