JPEG with "edges"?

Grazie wrote on 4/12/2008, 12:43 AM
OK:

1] Put a squarish jpeg with lotsa white background on T1

2] Put another squarish jpeg with lotsa white background on T2

3] Make T2 a Child to T1

4] Apply "Darken" or "Multiply" to T1

5] Apply some Track Motion to T1 to reduce the size of T1 Event.

Result: Black edges to the T1 Event.

Q1: Why?

Q2: What is the cure?

Previously I have done PNGs with a trannie BG. I have never looked into this before. It has been raised by another Vegas colleague, and for the life of me has me beat . . .

TIA

Kelly, thanks for showing some interest. I don't know a "?" could shout?

This is what I posted, and just had it checked by the recipient as working. . .

????????????????????????????
I think I have a way forward. It might just also point to how these layers work. And if this is the case then Vegas is doing something very special.

Here yah goes:

1] T1 Mouth Jpg

2] T2 NOTHING!! Yes nothing . . BUT make it a Child to T1

3] T3 Talkhead

4] T1 using PARENT Composite select DARKEN

5] T1 using PARENT Track Motion manipulate just where and how BIG you want the MOUTH

6] Sneaky trick here . . Go to T1 and use its OWN Track Motion for THAT track and adjust till the black borders disappear.

DONE!

Just to recap:

A] By using a "blind" empty Child Track to T1 this would appear to make any of the lower layers perform in the WAY we want. - Interesting!!

B] By using the T1 Track Motion - and this time NOT the Parent Motion I was able to adjust OUT the borders and so on.

OK, so please try it.

Also, I have rendered out to AVI, played in WMP and I can report I have no edges. Yes, I DO see edges prior to rendering. But none after.
