just checking: V7 = VidCap6 ?

I lost my preview monitor yesterday (no more monitoring in my tv set) so while I'm checkin the whole thing, I'm noticing V7 installed with Video Capture 6. Is that normal ? I tried the update page at Sony but they don't list VidCap updates, only the Vegas updates.

If there is a VidCap7, how did you manage to install it ?

Yep, got it back. I put my 1394 card in a different PCI slot (previous one was sharing with LAN so I swapped it). But the culprit may have been that tiny 1394 plug on the cam itself. Each time I've been having issues with the cam be it while capturing or monitoring, I've been fixing it with a few different actions every time so I never quite pinpointed the exact problem.
One thing I know for sure is I have to unplug my FW410 M-Audio card when I want to use the cam for preview or capture. Two 1394 devices on this Asus P4P800 E Deluxe mobo always have been too much to handle. Yuk.
As for VidCap 6, I'm happy everythings ok on this side. Thanks for feedback rs170a..!
