This is way beyond my experience, Larry. I can't make any comment. I don't know what "epirb" deleted, but maybe others may have a spin on this. You might try starting your own thread? This one may not get you the "exposure" you need to get you valuable feedback? Yeah?
Larry, my guess is that your computer is underpowered for AVCHD clips as they stress a system even more than normal HDV clips.
My quad core won't get full 29.97 fps playback (at Preview/Auto) on an AVCHD clip I downloaded from the net.
Sorry for being a nuissance, but could you please confirm that under XP, your Quad is used 100% when rendering a 32bit HDV project, just like it is with an 8bit one?
Didn't mean to hijack your thread... I DID start a thread on it a while back when I first started with Vegas, and got some helpful responses, but nothing definitve: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/forums/ShowMessage.asp?Forum=4&MessageID=558841
I was hoping that my system just had some easy to fix conflict and could be made to work... but I thnk I'm out of luck. I'm going to order the VASST Gearshift program today to see if I can work around it with that. I can't handle the choppiness, and can't even see what I'm doing in Vegas.
Thanks so much for your gracious help to an utter novice. I"m trying to make some use of video in my church (I'm the senior pastor of a church with a school in the Los Angeles area). I'll get it going..
