Sony's HVR-M15A and HVR-M25A seem to playabck some of the formats those cameras record to but I've struck 3 out of 20 or so tapes from a shoot that it wouldn't. I think the 25p tapes were fine but not the 24p tapes. Not helped by no one knowing how the camera had been setup, so sorry, not being too specific here.

I think you might have to bite the bullet and buy or rent a JVC deck.
