JVC MOD files

Hello,

I have got my hands on some mod files I need to place into an existing project.
I converted the MOD files into AVI files using Cyberlink PowerDirector, then inserted the file onto my timeline.
Vegas then builds an audio proxy for the file and when it reaches 100% I get this error: (an error occured while creating a proxy file for a stream. A stream could not be read.)

Any idea why this is happening, I need to get this footage into my project.

Thanks In advance
Jake

Try changing the file extension from .mod to .mpg I've had luck with this at times, although sometimes the video transfers to the time line but not the audio.

And, if that doesn't work, take a look at AVS , a free utility that I've used successfully in the past to convert .mod to .avi.
